Bone Idle? Thanks Technology

The great Albert Einstein once said "it has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity". Surprisingly, many people agree with Einstein's preposterous statement and think that we are becoming lazy due to technological advances. But hey, what did Einstein know anyway? I mean yes, he won the Nobel PEACE prize in 1921 but then, with all of his wisdom, decided it would be a great idea to develop nuclear weapons. So well done Einstein, now we all have to live in fear of being obliterated by North Korea in a thermonuclear war. Anyone else who thinks that technology is making us lazy is just as mad as Einstein was.

Many imbeciles claim that automobiles (cars in case you are very dumb) are the main cause of laziness today. This claim is almost as ridiculous as claiming that Elton John is not a homosexual. Of course running fifty miles every day to get to work, and as a result dying from a cardiac arrest would be much better for the body than using one of these extremely convenient pieces of technology. Now I can't speak on behalf of anyone else but I know that I would much rather be labelled as a lazy man as opposed to a dead man.

Another main technological device being blamed for our so called laziness is the mobile phone. For anyone still living in the 16th century the mobile phone is a technological device that allows us to communicate with anyone, anywhere. The mobile phone is an amazing piece of modern technology and therefore, I do not understand how anyone could even contemplate criticising it. Yet some ungrateful people think that this wonderful piece of technology makes us lazy. They say that we are becoming 'bone idle' because we are using our phones to communicate more and therefore, are travelling less. However, please bear in mind that anybody who argues this probably has an IQ of less than twenty.

Gaming consoles, another pathetic excuse for laziness today... Ok, so maybe it's not such a pathetic excuse, in fact it's probably a pretty good one. I mean who would seriously want to waste their time and energy running around chasing a football when you could just turn on a games console, load up FIFA and get the same enjoyment and satisfaction from scoring a goal on FIFA as you would if you were actually playing football. Gaming consoles are a thing of dreams and whilst they may not be the most healthy technological device ever created, they are definitely one of the funnest. They make the impossible, possible. You can do pretty much anything whilst playing on a games console, the possibilities are endless and there are no boundaries. It is ok to commit any crime imaginable whilst playing a game and that is why most people love them. In fact video games help to save lives as they allow gamers to release all of their anger on innocent GTA characters rather than innocent living people. And no games consoles aren't just for sad, lonely men. I mean Jimmy Saville loved playing video games and he had a very successful career (convictions aside). So, at the end of the day, anyone who dares to complain about gaming consoles has obviously never tried playing them. Either that or they do not have the intellect that is required to understand how to use them, which is pretty embarrassing considering you really don't need to be a genius to work it out!

The technological necessities in life often go amiss in the ever growing debate that technology is making us lazy. I am talking about household technological devices such as the electric/gas oven, the microwave and the washing machine. So why do these items always seem to go amiss you ask? The answer is simple and very logical. Women. Women (or men if you're very unlucky) are the only thing that link all of these items together. It just makes sense. Women require all of these devices to cook and clean with minimal effort. I mean how lazy can you get? You do not need those devices to cook or clean because technically speaking you could cook food on a fire and wash the clothes in a river by hand. However, this would require so much more effort and would take a lot longer. My point is that we have learnt to live and rely on these pieces of technology to get us through the day. Every piece of technology serves a purpose and makes our lives a lot easier! Technology is incredible. So who cares if it's making us lazy? (apart from Einstein and millions of other people of course).
